Air Touring Group plc Joins Mooney Sales Network
Unmodified Standard Factory Acclaim Outraces Everything In Its Class
KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company, producers of the world’s fastest single engine piston airplanes, has named Air Touring Ltd , a subsidiary of Air Touring Group plc (a British public listed company) as its exclusive sales representative for the United Kingdom and Ireland. Air Touring is a leading distributor of general aviation aircraft in the U.K., specializing in piston, turboprop and jet aircraft for personal and business transportation. Located at Biggin Hill Airport, 12 miles from central London, in a purpose-built facility, Air Touring offers a 'one-stop shop' for sales of new and pre-owned aircraft, scheduled maintenance, repair service, avionics upgrades and installation, parts sales, and technical assistance. “Our aim is to supply the aircraft which best fits our customers’ needs, and then to provide them with outstanding follow-on support,” said Michael Pearce, founder and chief executive officer of Air Touring Group. “We have long been fans of Mooney, and with Air Touring being associated with aircraft marques of distinction, we simply wanted to have the fastest certified single-engine piston in our stable. We are glad that a new partnership has been forged and we’re confident that Mooney’s reputation for quality at delivery and its line of quality airplanes will prove popular in our assigned territories.” ATL’s Director of Sales Mike McNulty echoed Mr. Pearce’s enthusiasm and offered a compelling insight into Mooney’s potential in the European market. “The Acclaim and Ovation represent the best combination of traditional construction with the evolution in both aerodynamic design and avionics. Of particular significance to the European theatre is the fact that the Mooneys will be the only production pistons for the foreseeable future certified for flight into known icing. Icing, to my mind, is the most critical factor in determining when and where we can fly here in Europe--in all seasons. I also like the fact that it is well recognized that many newer types are having great difficulty in meeting customer expectations at delivery – whether in terms of quality control, options specified or mission capability, and what we have seen, heretofore, is that customers want above all a reliable and performing product. That is why, when we wished to choose a piston product for our range, Mooney was the ideal choice,” he said. “We’re also pleased to have Air Touring representing Mooney in the U.K. Great Britain and Ireland represent consistent and well-established markets for single engine aircraft. Air Touring has a demonstrated record of success selling general aviation aircraft and an exceptional reputation for service and support after the sale,” said Susan Harrison, Mooney’s director of international sales. Air Touring expects to have a Mooney on display at its stand at AEROEXPO in June, 2008. Orders are now being taken for the Acclaim Type S, Ovation3 and Ovation2 GX, with deliveries projected to take place approximately three months after orders are received.
