Fred Ahles' first job was washing airplanes. For payment, the then-15
year old received flying lessons. Basically, he's been in the left seat
ever since. He's garnered 30 years' experience in aircraft sales and
fixed-base operation management. Today as president of Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla.-based Premier Aircraft Sales, Ahles and his team represent Mooney
in nine states. Since founding Premier in 2002 and beginning to
represent Mooney, Ahles has led the company through considerable
growth, adding staff - from 4 team members to 25 - and opening a
state-of-the-art Mooney Service Center in December 2004. "Our goal is
to grow with Mooney and to provide our customers the best possible
service before, during and after the sale," Ahles says. He graduated
from Eastern Michigan University as a marketing major and is an airline
transport pilot, completing numerous factory pilot courses on
twin-engine and turbine aircraft. "Flying a Mooney is like driving a
Porsche 911," says Ahles, who owns an Ovation GX. "Once you've flown
one nothing else compares."
